Don't throw away your polyurethane gel waste

We are implementing our own waste treatment policy via our ecological Pick'N'Recycle action.

Currently polyurethane gels are usually thrown away without being sorted when they are out of use. Once incinerated, they release many deadly gases into the atmosphere, including hydrogen cyanide and carbon monoxide.

To avoid this unnecessary pollution, KOHLAS undertakes to recover all used polyurethane gels, including those from competitors , and to entrust them at our expense to our local partner, the company TREDI, specialized in the ecological treatment of chemical waste. .
Our approach is also to work with the most environmentally friendly raw materials. Our strict selection of suppliers in this area allows us today to claim the following labels:
All of the foams used by KOHLAS are CERTIPUR® labeled. CertiPUR is a voluntary program for testing, analysis and certification of the environmental, health and safety characteristics of polyurethane foams. It defines the substances whose use is prohibited in the production of polyurethane foams and sets strict ceilings for certain components.
All textiles used by KOHLAS hold Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) certification, which is the highest level of OEKO-TEX® certification . Companies holding STeP certification have demonstrated that they have adopted an ecological and sustainable approach in all relevant areas of the company such as chemical product management, environmental performance, environmental management, occupational health and safety, social responsibility and quality management
Kohlas uses ISO 14001 certified raw materials in its production. This label defines the criteria for an environmental management system. It establishes a framework that a company or organization can follow to implement an effective environmental management system . It can be used by any organization wishing to improve its eco-efficiency, reduce waste and reduce costs.
